In a nutshell: Revivo is an impeccably designed luxury wellness retreat offering bespoke retreat packages to support mind, body and soul in Nusa Dua, a popular resort area about 20km from Denpasar near the beach in Bali. Come to cocoon yourself away from the throng in daily classes in yoga, movement and meditation with exceptional practitioners, pick and mix from a range of exquisite treatments, or take a wellbeing programme tailored to your goals to help you sleep, rest, relax, detox or connect. There’s an impressive focus on the gut and clean eating, and the service, attention to detail and kindness of the staff will help make your experience extraordinarily special.
There is a sense of openness and expansiveness here, and everywhere you walk feels soft and alive. The practitioners are exceptional, the food divine, and there’s a strong gut-happy nutritional philosophy. In the slick rooms, mini bars come stocked with gut tonics and raw chocolates, and even workout gear is provided for you.
The area of Nusa Dua is a busy, built up and over-populated resort town in Bali, so this retreat is best for those who want to remain inside the resort to rest, relax and rejuvenate rather than exploring the immediate surrounding area.
Choose from one of the five signature retreat packages or just come to drop in and out of daily classes, meals and beauty treatments as and when you wish.
Revivo offers eleven different signature retreat packages: an emotional balance and mind training retreat; a detox and weight loss retreat; a sleep well retreat; an anti ageing and longevity retreat and a destress and relax retreat. All the retreats offer a mixture of different activities and treatments tailored to suit your goals, so if you’ve chosen the anti-aging and longevity retreat, for example, you’ll receive spa treatments that promote skin and anti ageing, while if you’ve chosen the detox and weight loss retreat, you’ll receive more movement classes and detox massages.
Revivo offers a few different specialised seasonal retreats each year such as couples retreats, retreats targeted at professionals, and special golf retreats.
This is not a signature retreats but offered upon request. It is aimed at promoting deeper connection and presence between couples through activities and shared exercises. Be prepared to have your phone turned off for the duration.
Revivo offers Vinyasa, Hatha, Pilates, Ashtanga and Aerial group yoga classes with their amazing teacher Aya or Dr. Sudhin in a beautiful, well-stocked studio looking out to lotus ponds, trees and green lawns. The classes are all 1 hour long and there is a lot of 1-1 focus and support, so they’re ideal if you are fairly new to yoga but also strong enough to challenge you if have your own practice.
Tibetan meditation and mindfulness sessions with the supportive teachers here are a wonderful chance to stop, relax and find stillness and to deepen your experience. Gentle mindful movement classes in Tai Chi and Qi Gong are also on offer.
Fitness and HIIT classes with Aya are hugely effective for working up a sweat and helping you kick start an at-home cardio routine again. The state of the art gym is fully equipped, and there is plenty of pre-session stretching and after care to ensure you don’t pull any muscles or hurt yourself. There’s also a Pilates Studio with its own reformer machines.
Revivo spoils you with a huge choice of treatments, from coffee bean firming wrap massages to collagen facials and lymphatic drainage massages, designed to support different wellbeing goals from skincare to detox to destress. One treatment a day is included in the retreat package, and you have the option to book extras.
State of the art spa facilities are available to all guests and accessible at all times during your stay. Find the time to enjoy the sauna and steam room inside the unisex spa, and the large warm floating pool, hot tub and cold plunge pool outside.
Food and food philosophy is a huge part of Revivo, and most retreats include sessions with the nutritionist and naturopath Dr. Sudhin so you can learn about anything you need from fasting and positive eating habits to how to follow a vegan diet. Cooking classes with the chef are also available if you choose.
You can request a digital detox retreat here and hand your phone in, though there is wifi readily available throughout the resort.
At the beginning of your stay you can join an optional trip to a traditional Balinese morning ceremony, where you sit with a Balinese priest and make traditional offerings. This is a lovely introduction to the strong Balinese culture of devotion. During your stay you’ll also have the chance of a trip to Nusa Dua Beach with naturopath Dr. Sudhin. The beach is nothing special, but it’s an enjoyable trip with the excellent, interesting company of Dr. Sudhin.
Bedrooms: There are a range of luxurious garden suites and 1, 2 and 4 bedrooms villas to choose from, many with outdoor showers and their own pool or access to a shared pool. Everything is designed with a clean and modern finish, using traditional balinese detailing throughout.
Whatever you choose, the open plan bedrooms provide a slick and comfortable space to wind down for the evening or enjoy afternoon naps, and the four poster beds with their divinely soft sheets are extremely comfortable. There are no TVs, so you can truly switch off, but there are bluetooth speakers so you can listen to music. Mini bars come stocked with gut tonics such as kombucha, raw chocolates, fruit and more, and there are sun hats, baskets, robes, slippers and even workout gear provided for you too.
Bathrooms: Bathrooms come with a sunken bathtub and a rainforest shower, and some have an extra outdoor shower. Plastic free products are found in the bathrooms, in big refill containers rather than wasteful small single use ones. These are local and organic products, and extras you might need such as toothbrushes and toothpaste are also on offer (though these are not plastic free)
Pack light – Revivo provides you with workout gear (leggings and supportive top), sun hats, robes, slippers and even a beautiful basket to carry around. Book the airport pick up and fast track through security – it’s a wonderfully relaxing start to any wellbeing stay. If you want to save money, bring a friend or partner to share your room, as prices without the retreat package are based on per room not per person.
