Six Senses Zighy Bay review
Luxury spa & wellness holidays in the Oman

By  |  0 Comments

The Quick Read: Six Senses Zighy Bay is the only Six Senses resort to offer dedicated wellbeing breaks. Choose 3, 5 or 7 night stays which combine a daily choice of activities and spa treatments and focus on slow living, de-stressing, fitness, detox or adventure, or one of their yogic programmes – Discover Yoga, Yoga Detox and Yogic Sleep. Or simply come for a relaxing holiday and dip in and out of treatments. The location is stunning – set on a private bay and backed by the Hajar Mountains in the northern tip of the Musandam Peninsula, it’s pretty much in the middle of nowhere and in a country we don’t hear very much about. A glorious, supremely comfortable place to retreat.

More on the wellbeing escapes: Choose to focus your stay on slow living, de-stressing, fitness, detox or adventure – read a word from the queen on her stay. A typical 5 night deal will include a wellness consultation, access to complimentary daily wellness activities, access to the gorgeous steam, sauna, ice cave and fitness centre, and then scheduled activities. For the 5 night Sense of Adventure break, for example, this includes a three hour mountain hike, a one hour mountain bike, a one hour kayak , a 20 minute paraglide and three treatments – a one hour deep tissue, a 30 minute herbal steam and a one hour thai massage. Extra treatments can be booked, and your choice of activity can be changed.

More on the yogic programmes: Zighy Bay also offers Six Senses yogic programmes which are designed for anyone who wants to find body/mind balance in a lovely, healing location with lots of one-to-one attention. The three programmes – Discover Yoga, Yoga Detox and Yogic Sleep – begin with an initial Ayurvedic lifestyle consultation and programmes run for up to 14 nights, which includes five personalized hatha yoga sessions.

crown What’s queenly: The sandstone mountains (you must go into them if you are here) and the sense of seclusion.

What’s lowly: You’ll be sharing your wellbeing escape with regular holiday makers – but it’s so peaceful here it won’t matter.
