Satvada Retreats is a UK-based company running a variety of friendly, small-group yoga and meditation holidays throughout the year, including six-day yoga and walking holidays in Croatia and Morocco’s Atlas mountains, wellbeing and yoga weekends in Marrakech and open-to-all mindfulness and yoga weekends in Essex and Suffolk in the UK.

Queen of Retreats writers have reviewed their week-long yoga and walking holidays in the Atlas mountains , the Wellbeing Weekends in Marrakech and the Art of Relaxation weekends in Suffolk. We’ve found each of these healthy holidays to be authentic, run with passion and featuring a team of yoga teachers handpicked for their inclusive, sensitive approach and thorough, mindful teaching methods.

Food on retreat is prepared by local and in-house chefs, with the emphasis on tasty, flavoursome and balanced cuisine that uses local and organic ingredients wherever possible. On some weeks, treatments are available at extra cost.

Satvada Retreats was set up by yoga teachers Lucia Cockcroft and Darren Cooper, who have studied with some of the world’s leading yoga and mindfulness meditation teachers. Their retreats welcome everyone, and are particularly suitable for total beginners and those interested in meditation, though they won’t suit those seeking a harder yoga practice, such as ashtanga or bikram practitioners.
