Holistic yoga based retreats with an array of extras
The Quick Read: Dynamic wellbeing duo Larah Davis and Susie Howell offer group yoga holidays and bespoke holistic wellness retreats at various venues on the White Isle, usually in the glorious, unspoilt north of Ibiza. Drawing on an impressive world class network of teachers and therapists, their retreats include life and wellness coaching, energy work, therapeutic treatments, sunset hikes, starlight meditations, nutritional guidance and kirtans (mantras and music). You’ll receive a tailor-made experience, whether you’re wanting the more social atmosphere of a group retreat or a private, much-needed MOT as a burned out single retreater.
Who it’s for: Ibiza Retreats attract mostly women in their 30s, 40s and 50s who are either into yoga or have been through trauma, whether that be of divorce, say, or dealing with a stressy job. Their private retreats are also great for health hen parties and couples in need of time out.
What you can do: From March to October Ibiza Retreats offers various group yoga holidays that offer pure yoga teaching for all levels or mix in life coaching, holistic wellbeing or detoxing.
They can also organise private bespoke retreats for most of the year that can include holistic treatments, from MET (tapping) to self-massage and reflexology, guided meditation, yoga, life coaching and healthy food – even horse riding and sunset hikes can be arranged.
The team offers an integrated approach, beginning with wellness consultations and diagnostic body massages so you get what you need during your retreat.
Where you stay: Ibiza Retreats uses a range of characterful B&Bs, villas and fincas on the white isle to suit different budgets, from the glamorous villa Can Bikini to the relaxed Can Amonita to more simple home stays such as Can Skye.
How was it for us: Various members of the Queen of Retreats team have experienced Ibiza Retreats over the years, and been impressed by their world class network of authentic teachers and therapists. Our experiences include a bespoke day retreat, a bespoke wellbeing break and a powerful session of body rolling with Shaki, the interior designer-cum-yoga teacher who owns Can Dream, a beautifully furnished casita decked out with naturally distressed wood and use of a stunning swimming pool surrounded by herb gardens.
Food watch: Whether you’re on a fully-hosted group retreat or enjoying healthy B&B, the team ensures you get a simple, cleansing wheat, dairy and sugar-free menu.
What’s lowly: There is usually a spiritual, hippier side to the retreats that won’t suit everyone – if it’s simply rest, relaxation and pampering you’re after, be sure to say.
Costs: As an example, a private 4 night retreat at Can Dream costs from £1,320 / €1,647 per person alone or £875 / €1,094 per person sharing a room.
